Yoga Is for Everyone

I have been practicing Yoga for fifteen years and hold a 300-hour Yoga Teacher Certification from the Sun and Moon Yoga Studio.  As a RYT-200, I brings experience, sensitivity to individual needs, and fun to every class.   Currently, I am pursuing my 700-hour certification.  Blending together techniques from Yoga and Pilates, my goal is to help my students discover the joy of every movement and breath.  Originally from Moscow, Russia, I developed an appreciation for the different cultures that come together in Yoga classes across the United States.  I have been teaching in the health clubs, Yoga studios, and privately in the Washington D.C. area for the past five years, helping my students find their way to more balanced, aware, healthier lives.  I am currently studying the application of Yoga therapeutically.  Please visit the new section on Yoga for Wellness, for information about this unique Yoga experience.

News at Anna's Yoga Studio

  • New Pilates class starting in February on Mondays, 1pm-2pm at my home studio.
  • Join me for Posture Workshop on Saturday, February 18, 3:30-5:30pm at Lifetime Fitness.  We know that better posture can improve our quality of life, yet often we have no idea what it is.  What is good posture?  Come to my workshop on 2/18/12, a Saturday from 3:30 to 5:30pm, and learn core alignment that would change the way you live, the way you work, and the way you work out.  Proper posture protects your joints from excessive wear, it helps you to tap into deep core muscles, it makes breathing easier, it helps with maintaining healthy metabolism and managing stress.  "Things fall apart that the center does not hold" - so come and learn what is in your center, how to find it, use it, and benefit from it.  Anna will teach you proper postural alignment, and then show specific exercises that would help you improve your posture.  Because, let's face it, it is not enough to know what good posture is - at this point we need to train for it.  Our lifestyle is such that the muscles that are meant to support our posture are not being used for that purpose, and as they weaken, other muscles, not meant to hold your posture together, take on that role, contributing to tension in the neck, shoulders, low back, hips, even jaw.  Do you want to feel truly at ease in your body?  To get more out of your workouts?  To have a lightness to your step?  To feel confident and exude positive attitude?  Come and learn how you can achieve your full potential.  Deadline to register is February 17th.
